What Affects Road Plate Hire Cost?

Hire Duration

Very short hires still involve handling, loading and delivery time. Longer projects are usually easier to plan and price.

Number Of Plates

More plates increase the hire cost, but transport can become more efficient when multiple plates are delivered together.

Delivery Method

Flat deck delivery is usually best where a forklift or excavator is available. Hiab delivery is useful where lifting support is required.

Site Location

Transport time, travel distance and delivery window can affect the final quote, especially for urgent or difficult deliveries.

Site Access

Narrow access, limited turning space, uneven ground or restricted loading areas can change the delivery method needed.

Collection Timing

Collection is easier when plates are clean, accessible and ready for pickup at the agreed time.

Flat Deck vs Hiab Delivery

Delivery method is one of the biggest pricing variables. Flat deck delivery can be cost-effective when the site already has suitable lifting equipment available. Hiab delivery is useful when the truck needs to lift and place the plates directly on site.

Delivery type Best for Site requirement
Flat deck Sites with equipment already available Forklift or excavator on site
Hiab Sites needing lifting and placement Suitable truck access and setup area
